Notes From dusk Desk

Hey, I got the draft. Couple responses to your comments. No, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you going first in this situation. I get the whole ‘jumping the line’ fear you have, but at the same time, I just don’t think that’s all that relevant here, you know? Because it’s not like everyone who is going to be at this party ever signed up to be at this party. It’s a lot, okay? If you’re going to ask everyone to enter a room and participate in a game, there’s something fair and practical about going first.

To take the latter bit first, it’s practical because you’re essentially demonstrating the procedures of the game. And in a game that doesn’t have set rules only interpretations, demonstrations are going to help. And in terms of fairness, this way, you aren’t asking anyone to do something you haven’t done yourself. But even being worried about that is a bit of a stretch. I’m not saying it isn’t relevant. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be aware of the potential distress you might cause. But let’s be realistic here. Your prophecy design is even more impersonal than mine, which will probably be helpful in the long run, and who doesn’t love a good story?

But beyond that is that I think this is a lesson you really need to go through yourself and internalize. For your own sake.

So, Oracle, know thyself.
